We designed this holiday over twenty years ago, long before the wellness industry had grown to the popularity seen today. A spa in a hotel was uncommon, and often, the perception of well-being centres was of strange, cult-like institutions set high in the European Alps. Early guests in the early 90s were the so-called “BabyBoomers”. In general, a fairly successful generation, but for many, unhealthy lifestyles began to take their toll. So they looked to how they could undo the excesses of the past. BodyHoliday provided the perfect antidote since it was not a “Fat Farm” but had the facilities and expertise beyond that of a regular hotel resort to deliver the services required.

There are rooms, suites, and villas to choose from and all these have been refurbished recently. In October 2019 we launched two new two-bedroomed villas called “Oasis Villas” with panoramic villas and total luxury.

Dining at BodyHoliday is designed around our concept of wellness and food. Therefore at each of our outlets you will discover delicious cuisine that combines healthy diet with some indulgence. We are concious of the need to reduce salt, sugar and saturated fat, but we try not to do that at the expense of taste and the need our guests have for dining pleasure, whilst on vacation.

In our Wellness Centre if you read the introduction to our concept, you will already know that we consider Wellness to be supported by four pillars. Exercise, Diet, Restorative Beauty and Relaxation. The Wellness Centre is an imposing building situated at an elevated level so that it looks over the rest of the resort. Designed with a Moorish influence, reminiscent of the Alhambra in Granada, Spain, the Wellness Centre is possibly the largest such building in the Americas.

After a friend spoke about The Body Holiday for a number of years I finally went with my husband this June 2026.
It was everything and more. Over the last 6 months I have had a lot of anxiety stopping me going out. However thinking about it after this trip I have suffered with different degrees all of my life. I have never relaxed!
A combination of all the Spa Treatments, the surroundings but also the advice provided by the Doctor who suggested treatments, provided a report including diet ideas for a couple of weeks have given me a new calmness.
I went to all the activities: meditation, breathing, dancing, Aqua and since returning home I am now carrying out the meditation and breathing along with exercise. I am a new woman.
I know that this is something I will have to work on one day at a time, after a lifetime of experiencing the inability to relax which has affected my wellbeing.
Thanks to The Body Holiday for us both having a wonderful time in a beautiful setting, service from all the staff who were very helpful both in the restaurants and the Wellness Clinic.
More importantly giving me the tools to relax, and a change in mindset.
